GDDR3 vs GDDR5

"No as GDDR3 sends information to the processor quicker, on the other hand GDDR5 sends it straight to the graphics card, which is better for bf3 but for games such as call of duty, tf2 and minecraft, it is worse."
Is this true what a YouTuber said? I have these games:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Counter-Strike: Source
So what do you think will perform for those games that are not GPU intensive, but CPU intensive, especially Counter-Strike: Source, because I play on 64 player zombie escape servers with mods and some heavy CPU intensive huge maps.

Nah they speak from rear end. GDDR5 simply carries out double the number of data transfers per clock cycle. At a given clock speed, GDDR5 will have double the bandwidth of DDR3 at that same clock frequency.

No... A simple google search of "Differences between Gddr3 and Gddr5" Would give you your answer. Why would you rely on a random youtube video?

Gddr5 is simple faster because of higher bandwidth

GDDR5 should perform better. as its in a way Quad date rate[well not exactly but close to it] though GDDR5 has higher latency's. but that doesn't control if data will go to the CPU quicker or slower [or will it???].

besides you wont see GDDR 3 on high end Gfx cards, you might see them in low - mid range cards. which wont max out those games anyway [unless its under 1080p, in that case a good mid range card should max out]

You're talking about Woodysgamertag, aren't you? In that case, it wasn't GDDR3, it was standard DDR3 he was talking about. GDDR5 can easily hit 7000mhz, while GDDR3 struggles to get past 2200mhz. Also, he was talking about relation to the new Consoles, not gaming rigs.

DDR3 can be a drag on performance.

For example, based on the benchmarks below from the following link, the performance difference between a Radeon HD 6670 DDR3 and Radeon HD 6670 DDR5 is pretty significant.

The Radeon HD 6670 DDR3 has 74% the performance of a Radeon HD 6670 DDR5. That puts the performance of the Radeon HD 6670 DDR3 about halfway between the performance of the Radeon HD 5570 and Radeon HD 5670.
