Hi guys, I'm looking at making a first build with a GA-Z77-D3H motherboard. I already own a 7.1 surround headset from my console that is compatible with pc (Tritton 720+ if it's relevant) and I was wondering if I would need to purchase a seperate sound card to meet the requirements of the headset. If so, do you recommend any specific sound cards or am I in the clear to go the cheapest possible option? (Creative Soundblaster Audigy value) Thanks for your help in advance!

Sorry, perhaps I wasn't direct enough. I was more-so asking if my 7.1 surround headset will be compatible with the onboard soundcard on the GA-Z77-D3H, I'm not really too interested in purchasing a sound card if it's not required for my headset. :)
Thanks for the cool link though, shows a really good outline of prices vs uses! :)

Yes, it will be as there is no harm using it with onboard sound card...

But if you want to get the best out of it (and have some $ to spare) you should get a dedicated sound card - but that's just my (and kinda unpopular) opinion :D
