Hello,
I have finally made the decision to upgrade my aged Core2Duo PC.
My budget is around £400 (hopefully) but I can stretch if necessary!
I mainly use my computer for light gaming, some photoshopping and web and video viewing. I already have two monitors,(VGA 21") and a copy of windows 8 I can install.
I have previously been loyal to intel but their high prices have driven me away, so im not to concerned what brand of processor i have. I would also preferably like to include an SSD in my budget and multi-tasking speed and boot up time are important to me. I am also not concerned about the case, ill choose one later. I dont plan on overclocking. I would also like a fairly decent graphics card, (well i expect anything will be an upgrade from my 254mb nvidia) for running games, is it too much to ask?
Im sorry this is quite a cliched question... :pt1cable:
Thanks very much for your time and help.

Thanks very much for you response!
I think an intel CPU will be a bit of a stretch. Dont worry about including a mechanical hd also, I dont really need the storage, and i have some space in case I do. Are the AMD CPUs you suggested roughly equivalent to an i5. The 3rd one down seems absolutely ideal as far as i can see.
Thanks again.
P.S can you suggest an asus motherboard? Ive had good experiences with asus.
P.P.S I was thinking of this graphics card? A bit better value? Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost

I doubt the FX 6300 is equivalent to an i5. It's a good CPU though.

A GTX 650 Ti Boost is very good too. I didn't think it was worth it, because you said light gaming.

The Asus M5A97's are good AM3 motherboards. Asus does make some of the best.
