Radeon HD Crossfire problem

I have a home made PC.
Windows 7 Pro
Intel I7 3820 @ 3.6~3.8GHZ
Ram: Patriot 8gig x4 (32gig total)
MB: Asus Sabortooth X79
CoolerMaster 1200Watt Gold rated PSU
Video: MSI Twin Fronzr III R7850 (Radeon HD7850) 2gig x2 on crossfire.

Well my problem is when I first had it built I had no problems with it. Recently in the last 2 months it had been crashing, then dumping the memory. The system hasn't been recording the dump files even when I have it set to do so. It seems it only crashes and restarts when I am playing a game in full screen for 2~5hrs. I tried all suggested ideas people had posted to similar problems. Updated all the drivers, Bios, software, etc.
Well here is the odd thing. I took out both card and ran them solo. Both ran over 12hours with out any problems. They could gone longer but it went past the usually kill time and then some.
So my main question is, what can cause them to die after 2 hours + when both are hooked up? Doesn't matter if crossfire is active or not. Just like both are in and hooked up with crossfire..

Thank you.

Have you opened up your case and given it a good cleaning? All the fans running? Could the power supply be going bad?

I keep everything clean. The psu tested fine. All the vents are clear and clean. I clean out the case once a month. Coolermaster 932 HAF advance. That not the problem sadly.

It almost has to be an overheating issue or a flaky power supply. Could the power supply be failing after a few hours continuous use?

What do you mean it "tested fine?" Are all power supply cables seated tight? Does it do this with all games?

I agree PSU and cooling are the most likely cuplrits. Other than that one thing I had to do to get my crossfire running stably (Asus 7850's) was to install drivers for each card individually(I had similar symptomsin that each card ran fine on it's own). You could try that:

Uninstall your drivers
remove one card, install drivers for the remaining card.
remove that card, install the other card.
install drivers for the other card.
then hopefully, profit!

good luck; let us know how it turns out!

FYI, for the few poor S.O.B.'s in my exact situation...the Asus DC2 7850 and DC2T 7850 will NOT crossfire. Your system won't even make it past POST with both cards in the system. I ended up flashing the DC2 with the DC2T BIOS, after which it ran perfectly.

I checked that cables. all inserted. Even took every one of them and volt meter tested them as well. all the lines read steady at the voltage required. seems to only do it to games that are in full screen. usually like 2hrs or higher of game play and can stay on all day long and do things, just when it comes to full screen gaming it having the problem.

update: I bought a new card EVGA NVidia GTX 780 series. I ran it solo and it will crash like the Radeons did on crossfire. Not sure whats going on with it. The temps all read in normal range. When I tested the Volts they read 12.4V on all + lines with out drops or low Volts.

Also uninstall things I don't need. I want to point to the psu, but no solid proof. Also it is only 6months old. ( Coolermaster 1200w silent Gold series).

Getting to a point when I am about to drop it in the shop to get it fix, how embarrassing that sounds.
But I have to much into it to let it set like this.

Wow, are you hurting. Perhaps the usb controller is loading down the +5 V or something. Can you disconnect it?

Well I replaced it with a new one, also took the card out and blew out the port, and used different PCI-E from a different line. So far it hasn't crashed restarted or anything. been having it online for 24HRs on a game so far.

Don't know that solved it or just delayed it. I will keep you updated.

Thanks all that pasted, trying to help me out.
