Basicly what i wanted to find out is what psu i need for the gtx660 to run with the FX6300 the gtx660 wattage is 450 and fx6300 is 95 watt dpu, but im wondering to i need more than 500 because iv read things which say that gtx660 only uses around 300 watt? and also iv seen other people saying that an i5 3570k with gtx660 ti will most probly only need a 500.

Go ahead and get a 600W PSU, that will give you some breathing room...plus, your PSU operates more efficiently if you're drawing around 50-70% power.

EDIT: Look at something from Corsair/SeaSonic/Antec/PC Power & Cooling/XFX/OCZ...Rosewill, ThermalTake and Cooler Master have decent PSUs but you need to spend a little money, the bargain ones are junk from them. For a budget...the Corsair CX600 isn't bad, though the Silencer III from PC P&C is a good one if you can find it on sale.

What the vendor recommends and what is actually required are two very different things.

Many GPUs are sold with a 600+W "requirement" but the complete system often ends up drawing less than 300W. The most powerful single-GPU cards on the market max out around 200W and the most power-hungry CPUs max out around 130W which makes it somewhat difficult to build a "normal" system that peaks much beyond 350W.

The biggest unknown about PSUs is quality. That's the main reason GPUs tend to have grossly over-inflated "requirements".

The 450W listed for the GTX 660 is for the entire system. they assume a high wattage CPU so anything above 450W is fine.

The XFX 550W that L Helps suggested is an excellent choice.
