High temps on i5 2500k after re applying thermal paste

I'm using the stock heat sink and it will go up to 90c in the bios (I shut my computer off before it gets that high.) It was overlooked but I've put it back to normal since then. I'm using Arctic alumina compound and I'm only using the size of an air soft bb.

  1. That is why it is always recommended not to O/C with the stock cooler. It is only designed to dissipate 95W of heat. O/Cing will generate much more wattage.
