Hey community,

Built a machine from donated parts and some acquired online. Ever since putting it together a few months ago I have had an issue with the computer starting up for three to four seconds then shutting down over and over.

When it is having the issues, if I fiddle with it a bit, unplugging and plugging back the power connectors to fans and the graphics cards then the computer will miraculously recover and boots up fine, but this usually is after two days of rest and frustration, and no components seems like they were causing any of the problems. Everything is plugged in like it should, all green lights glowing when it works.

I then will use it for about a week with no power issues, gaming and using after effects with cinema 4d full blast, and it comes back from sleep without any problems until the process happens again without warning. I wake up to it turning on and off over and over again, shut it down, and proceed to fiddle with the connectors between sighs.

Just wondering if there are similar problems that have happened with any of you and if it could be something besides the PSU, before I dish out for a new one.

Here are specs on the PC, I have a 1000w psu.
