  1. Out of the four, FX 4300 makes up for a good quad core.

When it comes to six cores, why don't you go for FX 6300 instead? It costs $3 more than FX 6100 and delivers some decent performance improvements for a hexa core.

Since newer titles would require 8 cores (most probably) due to PS4 and Xbox One hardware, it makes up for a sensible choice now to go for octa core or if you can't, at least hexa core.

You have two choices here -

    FX 6300 (6100) - $118

    FX 8120 - $144

    ---------------

If you really want to go for quad core, invest in Intel CPUs. They give much better per core performance and thus are better for quad core choice.

Out of all of them, I would recommend investing in FX 6300.
  2. What do you intend to use this rig for? If it's for games, do you have any discrete VGA card already or plan to have one?
  3. Previous gen(Bulldozer): 4100, 4130, 6100. Personally I would avoid these and get the current generation as they offer better performance

Current Gen (Piledriver): 4300 (4mb L3 Cache), 4350 (8mb L3 Cache), 5800k (no L3 Cache but integrated GPU). If your gaming get the 4350 the difference the L3 cache makes is huge (if your OC get the 6300 and save your money and you get 2extra cores). The 4300 I personally can't justify when you can get something better in terms of gaming. The 5800k and lets just group all of AMD's APU's in here suck for gaming as once you hit a certain clockspeed it is pointless to OC as the lack of L3 cache is your limiting factor.

This one is in CZECH but thats what google translator is for if, not that you need it. As the benchmarks are self explanatory.

    EDITED IN:
I group in the 6500k with the other Piledriver APU's it's not much of an improvement.
  4. the fx 6300 would be worth an upgrade and it's price is very close to fx-4300.are u making a gaming rig?if yes.then the fx-6300 would be the best choice
  5. Honestly I'd just save up an extra $20 or so and just get the FX6350.

  6. the fx-6350 does not gives that much better performance than a fx-6300 and also it's TDP is125W(fx-6350) whilst that of fx-6300 is 95W and it is doing great in current games

    +1 ^
  8. i am not planed for VGA card since already quad core takes twice money than dual core and i am bulding this rig for CAD software as well as fro games

Can i use FX4100/6100 for gaming without VGA card for most wanted 2012 ,NFS the run , prince of persia forgeton sands ,POP 2008 and for DOTA game ?
  9. Well you can not play The Run, MW 2012, POP FS without a video card.
You need a decent card for The Run and MW 2012 especially.
  10. with a 4100 u need at least a hd7750 to play at 1080p or a hd6670 to play below 1080p res.
