I have a question related to codecs.I recently had my OS re-installed.I immediately payed a video file. However, I have the following question - Why am I able to play AVI and MP4 video extensions, without having installed any codec packs? (only the videocard drivers installed). And can you tell me if I can do that the same to every other PC or laptop? (I mean to play AVI or MP4 files without installing drivers or codec packs).Thanks in advance.

Thanks.Is it normal that after a fresh OS re-install and without having installed any drivers yet, the video goes slow and sloppy?And another question. If windows media player have codecs for the video files, what is the purpose then of the codec packs over the Internet? (K-Lite for example).
