i built a custom computer, its a i7 3770k 8gb ram, 1tb harddrive, hd 7870 graphics, asrock z77 motherboard, and a coolermaster cpu cooler. i run windows 8 on it. everything was running fine for a while, sometimes when on facebook on the right side where the messenger window is id get little squares that would pop up sometimes like something was wrong with my graphics but it never did anything to make my games crash. then one day my games started crashing, i thought maybe it was outdated drivers, got new ones for the gpu but no help. id play my games for a little and they just crash. i thought maybe it was dust buildup or something.
so i cleaned out my computer again by taking out my graphics card and the cpu cooler to get rid of dust, i put in new thermal paste and reinstalled everything. still having bad game stability. i tried a MEME memory checker, memory is ok. i went to my device manager in windows and scanned my hardware, it says everything works ok. i check all my plugs in the computer to make sure everything is installed properly. i dont understand whats going on.
no issue with temps i have a program to check those, i did an intel burn test on the cpu and gpu, they run fine no high temps or anything. i am at a loss on what is happening. i thought maybe norton antivirus was messing with my programs so i uninstalled it. still no improvement. i did a system restore to before everything went crazy, no help. whats happening!?
