    recommended, not minimum :)

when i used newegg power supply calculator it says: Our recommended PSU Wattage: 430 W

Yes, it could. It is made by FSP, which may explain its excellent performance.

The "500W" requirement is an attempt (often in vain) to account for all the liar-labeled junk out there, like Apevia, Raidmax, Diablotek, Logisys, etc.

  5. I ran an overclocked 7850 with a 400W seasonic gold psu.
It is borderline if your cpu and other components are not low power.
An underpowered psu will manifest itself with random system reboots/shutdowns (triggering ocp or uvp).
Usually happening when you fire up a video game, or a browser adobe flash video kicks in.

Point is, as others suggested, a quality psu will likely handle it (assuming your cpu and other components aren't monsters).
Higher wattage psu == piece of mind

    it works fine?
  8. That Thermaltake is a new model, MUCH better than older Thermaltake units. Built by FSP, the review at HardwareSecrets clearly indicated it is a good PSU, quite enough for your HD7850.
