This is my first build and will practically just be using it for gaming. The components are;

Motherboard - ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+

RAM - Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz (1x8Gb)

Processor - FX-8350 Black Edition 8 core 4Ghz

PSU - OCZ Technology OCZ750FTY-UN ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply - 85% Efficiency - 750 W - Internal

Graphics card - XFX Radeon HD 7850 Graphics Card 2GB PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDMI/Mini DisplayPort/DVI-I/DVI-D (Double Dissipation Edition)

HDD - Seagate Barracuda 3.5" 2Tb 7200Rpm 64Mb cache 6Gb/s SATA

OS - Windows 8 64 bit

Case - NZXT Phantom White Full tower

Drive - LiteOn IHOS104 4xSATA Internal BD-Rom

Water cooling - H60 Corsair

Plus extra case fan 140mm for front

I can get all of this for £813.28

When I have more money later on I may crossfire and increase RAM

The questions I have are;

Is this powerful enough to run like any game on highest settings?

Is the PSU higher than it needs to be and if so what what be more than enough?

Is a full tower case larger than I need keeping in mind I want to crossfire?

Is there a large difference between having single channel vs dual channel RAM?

Any improvements upon this build?

1.) Depends on the resolution. If 1920x1080 you should get high in most games with AA off or low.

2.) If you want to crossfire that psu would be good. If you want a better quality unit look at Seasonic or Corsair TX/HX series.

3.) I definitely recommend full tower. A mid tower will get cramped with 2 gpus.

4.) Not necessarily a large difference, but for the price you might as well get 2x4GB. Corsair Vengeance is good though.

I don't think you will need the extra fan, but it won't hurt. There are better performing air coolers for cheaper, but that will work ok.

I think this is better:

Because while the CPU isn't as high-end as the 8350, the GPU rocks.

Plus there's dual-channel RAM and an SSD. You'd only need to upgrade the

case to a full tower later, if you wanted and add whatever AMD CPU you want.

I take it you're going to OC? And what games is it anyways? Of course if they're

very CPU bound yours might be better. If I take away the SSD then you get:

Ta-da ! Great CPU and GPU for sure. I don't know your maximum budget... But you only need

the case then:
