Hi, I have a problem. During i played Crysis 3 I got very high temperatures especially with max CPU temperature 92 °C (max operating temp 55°C-71°C). I don't know what to do should I buy a new cooler?
My specs:
OS: Windows 7, 32 Bit
Memory: 4gb DDR3 1333Mhz
Cpu: AMD Athlon II X4 630
GPU: XFX Radeon HD 6870 double dissipation
Motherboard: MSI 760GM-E51 (MS-7596)
I recorded the temps, voltages, i AIDA64 Extreme Edition in excel files.

I do not think many users are going to download a download manager to see 2 files. Do you have skydrive by any chance(or google's equiv)? both of those can be made public without this download manager. -My bad

Either way, 92 is WAY over for a CPU even on stock cooling.

Have you confirmed the fan is working?
Did the fan speed get MUCH faster as the system got hotter?
Are you overclocking?

Take the side panel off the computer, play some games again and see if your temps are significantly different. If they drop by a fair bit, you can be fairly sure that airflow is the issue. In that case, get a better case or throw some fans at your existing one.

If they dont drop, then its likely your cooling solution. Getting an aftermarket heatsink will likely help with that.

You dont have to download a manager. Just click as in the image http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=jzgw21&s=5. And I think that the cpu fan works.
CPU RPM : min 3104, max:4504

My bad, I tried clicking the size.

Yeah that fan is running quite fast.

I would like to point out that the 90c looks to be from a motherboard sensor while the "Core" temps seem to be from the thermal sensor on the cpu.

The only thing I can see getting it THAT hot is a very dirty cooler OR a cooler that is not making good contact(not to say you should not try case open because it could be air flow too).

If it is still high with the case open, I think it may be worth getting some thermal paste and trying to remove/clean/reinstall the cooler.

For anyone what wants to see the temp log(The "time" is just number of recorded temps).

You should clean out the heatsink with an air duster. Dust can kill performance.

The lower speeds are normal for the AMD stock cooler as well because it has a built in thermal sensor(cooling would have been better if it was still at 4000+ rpms).

If you are a modding type, You can remove the back fan grille and use a wire fan guard instead. That would help too because the back fan seems rather restricted from the case.

Again a chart based on your current data. I have to scale upto 100c to make everything show vs 95 before. So it does not look to be case air flow.

Thanks for your answerers. I will clean my CPU heatsink and see the temperature. If the temperatures won't fall then I will probably need to buy a new heatsink or maybe water cooling. Also I will most probably buy a second 120mm fan for my case so I'll have two of them. But at last I have three questions:
1) Is it safe to clean my PC with an air compressor?
2) If I upgrade my system to 64 bit and my memory to 8 GB of RAM will they raise the temperature of my CPU?
3) What are some good fans for the PC case and some for the CPU?

1. Yup
2. Nope
3. Case fans dont need to be anything special, if youv bought a decent case then whatever comes stock is usually fine. CPU heatsink, a good budget option is the CM Hyper 212 EVO. If you want better than that, IMO mid-range cooling isnt worth it, jump straight to something like an NH-D14.

I don't even need to reply because it would just be EXACTLY the same as above :)

If using a compressor, please turn down the regulator so it does not push 100+ psi and stop the fan with a pencil(eraser end) or something to avoid excessive spinning(some is ok as it will help remove dust.).

The 212+ and EVO are honestly PERFECT for your cpu. Easy install(you do need to remove the board.) and does not take too much space.
