Here is my dilemma my specs are below, I need low profile RAM for this setup i am looking for 16GB worth of RAM at 1866 MHZ. Now i see some low profile Corsair i can use, as well as Mushkin or i can take the pointy heatspreaders off of the Corsair Dominator and Dominator GT off to fit due to my current Heatsink. Any recomendations. This is my firts build so i am also concerned on compatibility.

Specs:
I7 3930k
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
NH-D14 Heatsink (Means Low Profile RAM Only)
Dual EXGA GTX 780's SLI
1200 Watt Corasir AXI PSU

Watercooling is an entire different game field. I my self recently switched to watercooling and it wasn't at all cheap. So before jumping into water you need to know that it is not easy to install or to assemble a set. It is also expensive. With that in mind however it is the best cooling performance you can achieve.

Now you have closed circuit units such as the corsair H80. However those will match the performance of top notch aircoolers. Watercooling is viable for enthusiasts that are not afraid to drop 400 at least for cooling alone. But judging by the fact you will install 2GTX...

Have you bought this setup or are you going to buy it. Because personally i wouldn't sacrifice my ram's heatsinks for an NH-D14. Perhaps look into another cooler that doesn't prohibit excellent memories. And it seems to me people swear by Ripjaw memory kits.

Okay

- This is a selected build i will be purchasing in am onth after my deployment
- I chose that heatsink because my friends a pretty big pc buff and he recommended it
- I will do some slight OC but only with some help from higher tech level friends because the last thing i want to do is mess up this build im putting so much money into
- Let's say i do abandon this HeatSink what heatsink would you recommend in its palce and what 16GB 1866 Mhz RAM would you recommend based on my specs

Very well.

Here is a thread. My personal favorite out of the bunch would be the G.SKILL Ripjaws-Z 16GB DDR3-1600 Memory. Because lord are they amazing.

Secondly as far as air coolers go the noctua is indeed one of the best no doubt about it. How about an thermalright Venomous X.

Judging by this benchmark i just linked it seems it's only 1 degree or so hotter than the noctua any way. Not sure how well it works with RAM clearance but i am sure it's in the review.

But judging by the fact you will install 2GTX 780. It is very viable option for you. Since it will cool those things like no air cooler can.

I am down 40 degree's overall since switching to water. So i am very happy overall. However with water you will need to periodically clean the loop, which means you need to know how to put it in and out, or have a friend ready that knows how to. And u always risk the chance of leaks which are by no means refunded or under warranty. So really Watercooling is enthusiast only thing.

And if u decide to buy COrsair H80 or H100i they are more expensive but ALOT ALOT smaller than top of the line aircoolers which makes them a desirable trait to some. I personally always buy Corsair H coolers. In my opinion and from experience they cool things very well and the noise level is perfectly reasonable and their size is not prohibiting at all. You can easily hook up an H80i to a 120MM fan opening. Unlike the Noctua which let's face it is a GIANT COOLER it's massive. My entire watercooling setup is smaller than that thing.

So the most important price point for Corsair closed circuit watercoolers is. They are very slim and can be installed easily H80i being the slimmest. They cool on parr with air coolers and they are silent and require no maintenance except the occasional dust flush.

Now here is Noctua cooler installed http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/7188/679.jpg

Here is http://img.hexus.net/v2/cooling/Corsair/H80-H100/hydro-08.jpg H80 closed circuit watercooled equivalent of aircoolers installed.

And here is my own computer full liquid cooled.https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/484776_476538772420797_1640966514_n.jpg.

I assume you can spot the differences.

The H Series of closed loop water coolers are what i was lookign at to be honest with you, it seems like a mix of both worlds so i can be free to choose Ram with large heatspreaders as well as efficiency.

I hugely appreciate the pictures actually, i am pretty sure i got my Answer i am just going to choose the H80i Corsair cooling and go from their. One quick question might sound kind of dumb but i can still use the same thermal paste on the part connecting to the cpu right?
