My friend just got his phenom II x4 945 today to replace a athlon II x2 240, well first boot went to a dual core, so i went in the bios set acc to manual and Cores 2 and 3 to enabled. Boot up again still shows as a dual core. Task manager, Cpu-z show as a dual core and device manager shows all four cores.
After that attempt i reset the bios to optimized defaults and still no change, Is this a glitch? or something that has to be changed within Windows 7?
Specs:
Phenom II X4 945
Gigabyte gigabyte ma785gm-us2h Rev 1.0 (Bios F11) X4 945 needs F5
4x1Gb ddr2 800
Radeon HD 6770
