Hi there,
I'd like to ask you a question about this motherboard, but I guess it could relate to other motherboards as well.

On the Asus website, it is said that this motherboard supports up to 4-way sli/crossfire. It isn't specified whether it supports quad-gpu sli/crossfire (2 dual gpu cards) or not. Does it? When it is stated that a motherboard supports 4-way sli/crossfire, does it imply it supports quad gpu on 2 slots, too?

Thanks

I see, thanks. Yes, I meant 2 690s or 7990s.

One more question. I was also checking the msi z87 gd65 gaming which supports 2 way sli/xfire. Does it also support 2 690s or 2 7990?

Ok, now everything's clear. I thought it had to be specified in the specs in order for it to work. I must assume that every time a motherboard supports a 2 wau gpu configuration it can run 2 dual gpu video cards, cause that would be a 2-way sli/xfire configuration. Am I correct?

Yes. 2 cards = two way SLI, no matter how many gpus are on each card. So if you have 2 690's, it is 2 way SLI, but it is also Quad SLI.

Ok, now it's all clear. The fact that some specify quad sli support and others don't made me think there was a difference.

On the other hand, sli/xfire support is to be stated, isn't it? For example, some motherboards are said to support 2-way xfire (no sli mentioned), does this mean sli won't work?

Typically it means exclusive xfire. But that is definitely something worth looking into before you buy.

Cool. Thanks for clearing up my doubts.
