days ago my 6 year old computer died on me. its the processor or the mobo. either way i have to buy both so im thinking on buying an amd 8350. im really short on money right now so i'll only be buying the mobo cpu and ram at the moment.

the problem is, my power supply is powerful enough but it only has a 4 pin connector and the new board will have 8 pin. do you think the 4 pin will be enough to the cpu?
im thinking on buying an adapter like this:
8 Pin Male to 4 Pin
my question is, the power delivered trough the adapter will be the same as the 4 pin or will be more like it was a real 8 pin connector?

my psu is a nox urano 600w sli. nothing fancy but should handle well untill I buy a new graphics card, then ill buy a new power supply.

sorry, lot of text, I usually find all my answers online but this one seems to be difficult. thanks for the help

The Nox Urano is a decent power supply. It is either a Channel Well make (think Corsair CX series) or a Super Flower make. If it is the Super Flower make than it is an outstanding psu.

As long as you are not overclocking and the system boots then the 4-pin is enough. They added the extra power for overclocking the CPU.

well yeah i will replace it but not just now. the psu is fine my board boots up but and the fans start all the way up to 100% and dont go down nor the system start. I think its the chipset or the cpu so my psu will have to hold on a few more months.

and I've seen those adapters but I wanted to know if the 4 pin to 8 adapter do the same as the 4 pin+ 4 pin molex adapter.

thanks guys

Where does he even list the board he is using?

My mistake I think I posted on the wrong thead, in that thread they had an m5a785 or something like that from asus that had only the 4pin but somehow listed it supporting 8320 and 8350
