Hi, I need 12 ports for my network, I tried a switch, I don't think it works, so i'm going to try to have 2 routers and a hub. So far the router plugged in to the modem and the hub works on the same LAN for games, the 2nd router connected to the hub doesn't work with either and accesses the master routers settings, what order should they be in and what setting, this need to be soled by Thursday, I have a Netgear router, Linksys router is the master and an old linksys hub. (i'm on a tight budget)

Solution

Switch, not router. Cheaper, and purpose designed.

Should be the other way around.
1 router, 2 switches plugged into it.

If you turn off all the functionality on the Netgear secondary router, it will become a mostly switch.
A router, with everything running, connected to another router generally won't work.

Turn off the DHCP server, WiFi, and any other router functions. Or just get another $15 switch.
