Im just wondering if my setup will be able to play all the up to date games in next yr or 2? dosent have to be maxxed out but i'd like to stick at med-high settings with playable frame rates.

specs:
FX 8350(kuhler h20 620)
M5A99FX evo 2.0
corsair 8g 1333mhz (upgrading in 2 weeks to 1866)
Rosewill challenger case
sapphire 7870xt
Rosewill 700w

More about : sytem year

I will also take advice on any upgrades that i should make on any of the components to help increase performance. I buy parts every 2 weeks, considering returning 7870xt while its in 30 day return and getting asus 7970 DCU instead but unsure bc i only play at 1080p. Think i'd be able to do better gaming with the 7970 in the future. Thanks for any advice

The present sweet spot for graphics is the Nvidia GTX 770. It is a way overclocked GTX680 that is faster even than the Radeon 7970 GHz edition. The 770 is only $400 while the 7970 GHz is $400-450.

+1
The 7970 GHz used to be about $400, even a little less, but prices have gone up. GTX 770 all the way in my opinion.

overall your setup should be just fine for the next year or two... AMD has also promised to keep steamroller on the AM3+ socket, so in the worst case you can pickup a CPU upgrade a year down the road if the 8350 no longer keep up
