New motherboard problems

I am currently upgrading to an i5 3570k from my old amd thus I needed to upgrade my motherboard.i selected an msi and installed it today everything seemed to be ok but I missed the [] square 4 pin for the power supply to the motherboard. It hasn't turned on no fans spinning no noise at all is it to do with my front panel or my psu or the new motherboard. Help is greatly Appreciated. Forgot to mentio earlier I attempted to turn it on without the plug in the motherboard but 24 was in

Make sure under the mb you used the brass standoffs to eep the mb from shorting out. There also on some mb a four or eight pin pci power plug for the CPU and gpu. Make sure you plugged the right cable into this port.
People screw up and use the blue six plus two cable. On the mb header check that the on and reset switch on the right pins.

Nothing happened unfortunately I'm sure it's something to do with the front panel wires

If You think it a switch issue pull the reset and power switch wires from the mb header and use a screw driver to short the two power on pins. If non of the fans spin up or the mb power good led come on it could be a bad power supply or a dead short. You can try bread boarding the mb outside the case to see if it turns on.
