So here we go, I am in the process of picking out a new CPU and mobo. At the moment I am using a AMD 810 AM2 processor. I have 16gb dual channel (2x4gb) Patriot Viper Extreme 4 ram, GTX 560 video card and 650w power supply.

Here comes the tricky part: The games I play are WoW and SC2. I am also looking into play FF14 with it is release come August. I am not looking to spend extra money if I don't need too. On that note I was looking at the 4670k with the MSI Z87-G45 (http://goo.gl/iFQLn) but $400+ is alot at the moment (getting married and owning a house).

Any help will be great. I keep looking at AMD but nothing seems to keep up with the I5 3570 or better.

Again any help is awesome and thank you in advance for your comments!

I know I will need to upgrade the GPU eventually. Right now my current CPU is on it's way out and eventually I will do the GPU. I was looking at the i5 3570k with a MSI Gaming mobo and it came to 437.00 taxes and shipping included. So now go with the i5 3570k or the i5 4670k?

Get the 4670k, make sure you get the right socket, you could probably find a clone of the motherboard in the newer socket.

go with the latest gen. cpu of intel,u will be more future-proofed and would not experience bottleneck even with with high-end gpu's and the mobo u selected that of msi is the best for gaming at that price,i would recommend it strongly....

No, this is completely false. Even the lame Bulldozer 8150 was better than the 2500k.

More accurate overall: i5 3570k > FX 8350 > i7 3770k
Same applies for haswell. And even then, this axiom is on crossfire/SLI systems. With a single GPU, even a top end GPU, you won't see an appreciable difference at 1080p or 1440p.

Sources: Current reviews and info by Tek Syndicate, Linus Tech Tips, Legit reviews, Hardware Info, Hardware Kanucks, Actrons FX 6100 - i7 3770k BF3 comparison.

Caveats: You will see better performance on Intel with older games like Skyrim that use 2 cores and Intel optimized Havok engine over an AMD. In BF3 and Crysis 3, the 8350 shines because those titles can take advantage of the additional cores. Consider the software and games you will run, will they use all cores or just a few, and what will the future hold for CPU core usage. Consider those points before you decide.

yeah i agree, but the 3570k is better than the 8350 in single thread performance which is mostly used in gaming and the 8350 has more O.C capability than the 3570k. the 3770k is far better than both(it doesn't even comes in comparison with these two processor's)
