HI,

Doing a PC upgrade and the big question is do I keep it, or is there anything better. I love the EAX and positional sound with ear phones. I see creative have a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD Sound Card but not sure if its worth the upgrade.

Thanks, all , Lee.

hah, no. That's the exact same card that I have and I wouldn't trade it in for anything. I'm thinking about getting a second one just for a backup. It's about 5 years old but it's still the most powerful one on the market. Creative Labs has been pumping out garbage recently.

The X-Fi Titanium HD is an audiophile card, it is not designed for gaming and to my knowledge does not support 5.1/7.1 surround sound configurations.

While there are definitely better sound cards available than your current X-Fi, it is still much better than the vast majority of onboard sound.
I would recommend staying with your current card for a while.
If anything, upgrading your speakers/headphones would probably give you a much larger increase in quality than updating the soundcard alone.

Thanks guys, pretty conclusive its still a good card then, just the automatic mentality that Ive had it for a while and there must be better out there, but in reality, it does still sound fantastic.

Lee.

Despite being 5 years old, the X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro is only 2 generations behind the most recently released parts, and in those two generations there's only one card which "might" be better under certain circumstances and that's the Creative Labs ZxR. The rest are either underwhelming, or lack features present on the Titanium series.
