Hi, I am currently going to build a computer for both gaming and school. For school I am doing video editing, 3D animation on programs such as autodesk Maya, etc. I haven't built or bought a computer yet so I am pretty new at this. So right now I do not have any components in buying a computer, no monitor, keyboard, stereo, anything. I also wanted to build my own computer because I want to be able to upgrade it later on in the future. Or can you upgrade pre-made computers as well?
I am wondering if i should get the i5 or i7, Or just spend $40 more to get Haswell. Although I am on a budget if the haswell is really worth the upgrade from a ivy bridge I am willing to spend the money. I know i7 is better but I'm just a college student with low funds but I still need to make a computer able to render 3D models and animate them for school. I am not sure if I am going to overclock or not but I still want the option to be available if I want, thats why I chose the k

bottom line i5-3570k or i7-3770k, or Haswell, trying to find an affordable/durable/good computer
Any sugestions will be helpful

Haswell CPU's don't have much performance increase then lasts generation CPU. (Ivy) Personally, I would get the i7-3770k and do a mild overclock. Since i7's have hyper threading, it will help editing/3d modeling. Do you live by a Micro Center? They have a good deal on it: http://www.microcenter.com/product/388575/Core_i7_3770K_35GHz_Socket_LGA_1155_Boxed_Processor

Oh I see if I overclock the 3770k it would be similar to the 4770k. Lol its my first time building a computer, there are to many options to choose from. Yea I saw the microcenter price but unfortunately I don't live too close to it in California. Do you think I can match the price at Frys or Bestbuy?

I'm not sure about that, I would go and ask a best buy/frys person.

Yea I don't have any components yet because its my first computer. Lol i only choose that psu because it was on sale, do you think 620W will be enough power? also do you see if the psu is bad quality?

then u have a choice between 3770K+Z77 or 4770K+Z87, haswell gives u a performance boost of about 6-8% over Ivy and huge bonuses in power saving, now its up to u if u think its worth the money, u check a PSU quality by its brand, never go for anything except Corsair, Seasonic, Antec and XFX if u want more power then this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx750m its semi modular
