Hi,

My Radeon HD6800 temps idle at 60'c.

My GPU fan speed seems to have auto set itself to 50% when I first boot, and it is quite noisy (after using gigabyte mobo smartboost to overclock my cpu).

The problem is:
When I lower my fan speed to 30%, or increase to 80%, there isn't a change in gpu temps, maybe by 5'c.

Any idea?

My cpu temps are between 25-40.

i have mine set at 55-60% idle but then again noise is not a real issue for me the only way you are going to get the temps down are improving airflow in your tower or turning up fan speed

Hi,

I have this exact same setup, DVI to monitor, HDMI to TV.
But I haven't turned my TV on at all in the past couple of days, same idle temps.

What did you do or advise?
Thanks

The card still detects the device even if the power is off. You have to unplug it from the TV to get your memory clocks and idle temps back down. I've got the same issue with it automatically setting to 50% fan speed as well. I suspect Catalyst 13.4... Well, better sell it and go Nvidia!

Hey you are right, I just unplugged the HDMI cable from the TV and my idle temps are now 38-40'c.
Is there any way to fix it so I can keep same temps but with the TV plugged in?

Unless you want to fool with creating a custom BIOS for the card. I don't recommend it, but I've never tried it. http://www.techpowerup.com/rbe/
