Hello,

So as you can probably tell i'm looking to buy a gpu,but I don't know which one to get either the Gigabyte GTX 660 OC 2 gb or Radeon 7870 OC 2 GB, at the store i'm buying them there is a 38$ difference (the 660 OC being cheaper).
Will I get any performance increase by spending the extra 38$ for the 7870 or is the 660 OC better?
Also I would love to know how these cards overclock because I intend to OC it the second it boots..

Someone please assist me!

I have a Sapphire 7870 and have gotten it up to around 1150/1300 at stock voltage and it seemed stable. The 7870 is a little more powerful now that drivers matured, but do you like physx? If that doesn't matter to you and the $38 doesn't matter then the 7870 is more powerful. It should come with 4 games too.

I don't use PhysX, but it's a nice feature to have.I've read that the GTX 660 runs quite a bit cooler than the 7870,so it would overclock alot better and for the extra 38$ I really don't feel like it's a good deal (plus the store i'm buying it at does not add the 4 games in a bundle).

Can you buy on Newegg? I just got another Sapphire 7870 for CF and it cost $175 and came with the 4 games. I have it in the second slot and it runs at 62 C where the top card runs at 74 C. Temperatures definitely aren't a problem. The top card runs 10C cooler without the second card. The new 7870s are quite a bit shorter than the first models were. I would say a good 2 inches.

I've been looking at reviews all day and I think that after that I'm going to go with the 7870 as it puts out more performance when OC'ed.Thanks for clearing things up.
