Hello, I'm in need of a psu and have so far found Corsair's HX850 and AX860 to be quite good for my needs. But I was wondering on what the differences are specifically, other than losing 4 4pin-peripherals for fully-modular and platinum efficiency rather than gold. I don't really know what's inside these to be honest, as most of the reviews I've found seem to be of the older model.

Here are the two I'm talking about;

http://www.ebuyer.com/410789-corsair-ax860-80plus-plati...

So what is the better one to go for? Other suggestions are also welcome, the only requirements are it has to be 800+watts, and have both a 6-pin and 8-pin PCI-E connectors. Preferably modular in some form, but not essential.

The AX860 is the one i would buy.It's made by Seasonic and Platinum certified.

Seasonic makes the Best PSU's in the world.

They are both exceptional power supplies:

The only bad thing the reviews had to say were about the loose heat sink screws on the Corsair PSU. But still the Corsair received a score of 9.6/10 compared to the Seasonic 9.7/10.

The HX850 review is older, but the PSU is still made by ChannelWell and the supply is still semi-modular. ChannelWell was the manufacturer of the original TX series that put Corsair on the map as a solid competitor in the PSU market. I had a 950TX that was simply a solid supply. As a result, I'd have no reservations about the 850HX.

They both come with a 7-year warranty.

Considering the reviews that are out there either supply would be a solid choice. I wouldn't regret the decision either way.
