Weird sound problem

Hello,

I'm having a problem with my surround system. It's a 600W Phillips mini HIFI system with two speakers. I usually plug them normally into the green jack into the PC . They worked fine yesterday, but today after I plugged them in, there was no sound.

My HEADSET is working just fine. I reinstalled my realtek audio drivers that came on the CD (just got the PC few weeks ago). Also, if I turn the volume of the speakers up, I can barely hear the sound (music playing on PC) and there is also a quite loud buzzing noise.

What's wrong?

just some correction :)
1. surround means 5 speakers not 2 :)
2. if your headset is working then your amplifier from the mini HIFI system is dead... thats worst case scenario.
Your cables might be the problem to or the jacks

Sorry for the surround mistake, I tend to mix those when not talking about them in native launguage.

But how is this possible since this already happened, exact same problem but a mere restart of the PC fixed it. But now it doesn't.
