I have recently built a new pc, and I need a wireless card for it. I have a linysys wmp54gs v 1.1 wireless card from an old xp computer I had that broke. I was wondering if I could use it in my new systems ( which runs windows 8) and if it would slow the internet i get due to its age. My specs are these
CPU- i5 3570k
Mobo- Asus p8z77 v lk
GPU- Asus gtx 660

More about : wireless pci card

It seems the trouble will be finding a driver for it. 54mbps seems fast enough to me. If I were you, I'd install the sucker and see if Windows can detect it. It will occupy a PCI slot, and your motherboard has two to choose from. Check the linksys site for 64 bit drivers.

Thanks! I managed to find a vista driver, which should, in theory, work.
