I am in the process of upgrading my PC from an AMD 955t to an intel system. My question is; is there any point to go from Win7 64 to the Win8?

New PC is:
4770k processor
Asus Sabertooth Z87 main board
16Gb Corsair Dominator memory
780 GTX video card
2 x 180Gb intel 520 SS drives

Also my psu is only 650W, enough for the whole build?

I don't know on the power supply, but I would stick with Windows 7 if I were you. The only people I've talked to that like Windows 8 at all are people with a touch screen. Without touch it just feels messy. The start menu is gone, the control panel switches between the classic desktop view and the Windows 8 tablet feel etc. Windows 7 is solid.

What's the primary use of this going to be? If it's gaming everything on your rig is complete overkill, and you're way overpaying for the RAM. And Intel SSDs are way overrated, get an OCZ Vector or Samsung 840 Pro instead.

650W is plenty for the power supply.

Thanks for all the fast responses, suppose I will stick with Win7 then.
I will use this machine primarily for gaming but almost always have two
Monitors running with two game accounts. Also I have never been into the
Over clocking and buy a little over the top for future proofing.

Spending more for parts when you do not have to does not make a build "future proof". There really isn't such a thing. It just means you over paid for parts. Spending ridiculously on motherboard, RAM, and CPU does not guarantee you that your build will last longer than if you didn't spend money on those things.

Well the one thing is that Dominator RAM - ridiculous premiums (like 2 - 3X) more than regular RAM, and more like 4 - 5X for Dominator Platinum, and it doesn't do anything more than regular RAM does. Just a fancy heat sink.
