AMD to Intel Upgrade

Hello People of the forums,

I am wanting to upgrade my PC and I want to know if its possible to switch from AMD to Intel. Of course ill be needing a new motherboard and what not, but I was just curious if it would impact my system.

I was looking at the new Haswell Chips and a Z87 board from either ASUS, Asrock, or MSI.

Yes, you can switch like that. If you're lucky Windows boots and you'll simply need to re-install the proper drivers and re-activate Windows to get on your way. It's also possible you may have to re-install Windows. Depending on the rest of your specs you might be able to keep the rest of your system. SATA hard drives, SATA optical drives, PCI/PCIe cards should work. If you have 1.5V DDR3 that will probably work on the new board too.
