shortcut images dissapeared, pease help

I made my SSD my OS boot drive and this is what happened..

heres an image of what it looks like (not my desktop but ya)

no, i copied my OS over, then i just switched the location of my HDD and SDD in my laptop

You will have to reinstall (CLEAN) windows onto the SSD.You can't switch drives like that.

Clean install with only SSD attached in ahci mode.

i gotta know why that would be better than just reinstalling everything like im about to do now, before i try that.

Save all of your personal data. Docs, images, music, whatever.
Reinstall Windows on the SSD as outlined above
Verify it actually works.
Reinstall all of your applications.

You can't just copy a Windows install from one drive to another and expect it to work. It doesn't work like that.
