NZXT Source 210 S210-001 Black Aluminum Brush / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
LEPA N Series N500-SA 500W ATX12V Power Supply
Kingston HyperX Blu Red Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory Model KHX16C9B1R/4
BIOSTAR H61MLV2 LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i5-3350P Ivy Bridge 3.1GHz (3.3GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 69W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80637i53350P
COOLER MASTER SickleFlow 120 R4-L2R-20AR-R1 120mm Silent operation Red LED case fan
ASUS Radeon HD7750-T-1GD5

This is my current build, not the best in the world, but i'm still down around 50 dollars till i reach 500.
If you were to drop the CPU from an i5 to an i3, then you could go with a better PSU and maybe another stick of RAM.
With the 7750 and an i3, i think you would be able to play most games without any problem.
The build i have above, i believe works well and looks sick as hell with the red parts and red fans.
Anyways, good luck and i hope this works.

but honestly, who buys an OS anymore? People either have an extra lying around, or go about getting it different ways.

For the price I would go AMD over intel. I personally have two gaming rigs one is AMD and one is Intel and they perform very similarly but the Intel rig cost me a few extra hundred to complete. You could get away with a amd 6300 or 6350 and be well off unless you really need the extra power out of the cpu. Then you can pick up a pretty solid GPU off ebay for cheap. I got a 6970 for under 200 and its a power house. Really if you don't mind buying used parts you could easily kill a xbox or ps for 500 bucks.

This one is much better, though it seems redundant to get an APU and a GPU. If you spent the same on a better CPU, you wouldn't bottleneck the GPU and all and all it would run better. But, i see how this one could be a great build for a budget.

I like that build with the budget you have in mind...with the 6300 I believe you would be set for a decent gaming rig but don't plan on topping the benchmarks. Don't expect to see crisis 3 on ultra but from what I see you should beat xbox or ps hands down until the next gen release...at that point plan on upgrading the video card. To be honest I would buy a cheaper gpu as a hold me over until I could afford at least a 7870 or jump to the 7950. That would make a solid gaming rig that as long as you game on one screen you should be set

not a big battlefield player myself but the 7950 can be found for the mid 200 range after rebates...I know that battlefield does use a lot of cpu as well but if I had to guess it would do damn well especially if you overclocked the cpu and gpu. Remember the 7950 will only be getting cheaper with the release of the 8000 series coming soon.

also just remembered that the 7790 is a dual gpu...not sure how that is with microstuttering and some games are a pain with dual gpus

I have no personal experience with the card but to be honest ebay did me wonders...I don't regret buying my 6970 off of there and it has been the best bang for the buck I could ask for...now did I get lucky, maybe so. But getting the 7000 series does usually come with free games that can be resold to get back some of your investment. Now I do also have a 6670 which will play most games but its definitely no high end card...most games at low to medium settings with the occasional high...but remember that is with most AA either turned off or down. Also remember 1 powerful card is always better than 2 weak cards to make up the difference. I like this much better than the 7790 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

yeah the 7950 is a power house that is more than some people need...the 7850 is a great card for the average gamer and is at an amazing price. I don't think it will let you down for one second

If we are speaking of GPUs, I know for a fact the the GTX 560 ti will fun everything on Ultra. It was pared with the i5 2500k, and with a lower end processor, it may bottleneck. None the less, it is a great GPU, and i believe it's about in the same price point you are looking at. 200ish? Also, side note, people seem to like GTX cards much better than and one AMD pushes out. Just putting it out there
