I wondered this and tried googled it. Couldn't find anything. Now I can't get it off my head. So what CPU's are compatible with the fm2 socket? I know the A-series is but nothing else.

The only AMD APUs compatible with socket FM2 are the Trinity and Richland series. The Llano series is socket FM1 which is different than socket FM2, thus not compatible.

The successor to Richland will be Kaveri and it will be a socket FM2+ APU. While the pin layout of socket FM2 and socket FM2+ are similar. There is an extremely good chance that Kaveri (FM2+) will not work in a current generation socket FM2 motherboard for technical reasons.

This is similar to the situation with AMD's socket AM3 and AM3+. AMD's FX (Bulldozer and Piledriver) series are socket AM3+ and the pin layout is the same as socket AM3. While an FX CPU can physically fit in a socket AM3 motherboard designed for the Phenom II, the PC will not boot up because of compatibility issues.
