Will this RAM work with my new Haswell setup?

I currently have this memory in my computer:

Kingston KHX1600C9D3T1BK3/12GX HyperX 12GB 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM Desktop Memory XMP T1 Black Series Triple Channel Kit (PC3 12800) 240-Pin SDRAM.

i noticed that all the haswell mobo's are dual channel so i immediately was wondering if i could reuse this memory or should i ditch it and purchase new memory?

Solution
If going 8GB get this set yes, would be a good choice, if wanting 16GB, get the 16GB version in a single set either 2x8GB (preferred) or a 4x4GB (the 2x8GB is less stress on the MC (Memory controller)

Hello,:hello:

Yes, the memory is compatible and it will work. However, since you have 3 modules I suppose the memory will run in Flex mode. I assume your motherboard probably has 4 slots, so personally I would go with another kit (probably higher sized kit based on what I use my PC for) as sometimes two kits with tighter timings can cause compatibility issues when you are upgrading your memory in the future even if you opt for exactly same part number and same brand memory.

As long as you install just the 2GB modules I do not see any reason why it shouldn't work. When you are going for higher amount of memory make sure you are not mixing brands. Cheers, mate!!!

It depends on what you do. If you are using memory intensive tasks such as video rendering, CAD, SIS etc then 16GB should come in handy. 32GB is an overkill. You are probably not goin to use above 16GB of memory and most of the memory will be left unused. Most of all the software's run with 16GB of memory. I wouldn't recommend 32GB but if you have the budget then you can give it a shot.

i wanted 16gb however after seeing people install BF3 on their ram disk it's insanely fast, however i heard BF3 itself is around 20GB so i wouldn't even be able to create a ramdisk big enough to fit it. That's the only reason why i'm considering 32GB

On that I don't know for sure, but with 32 for gaming could create a 24-26GB RAMDisk and would still have 6-8 to actually run the game, might be monotonous copying to the RD each time you want to play, but it's an option. Wish I could help more, but I know many that will load games on a RAMDisk and love it, not as fast but many also build an SSD RAID) which is extremely fast also - not near like a RAMDISK but faster than a single SSD or or a platter drive

Last question guys! So i was set on the Kingston 16GB 2133 MHz, however someone reported that that memory would be useless and it would be cheaper to just get 1600 MHz so i narrowed it done to either the Kingston 16GB 2133 MHz ($149.00) or the CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB 1600 MHz ($179.00) what would you guys recommend?

Many often recommend 1600 in part because that's often the native speed or 'recommended' for a CPU, they will also say there's no gain in faster DRAM, (mainly because they read benchmark articles) but in the real world when you multi-tasking, using memory centric apps, running VMs and just want all the speed you can get, then it most definitely shows, I run fast sticks and when I go and drop 1600 into it a I can and feel the slowdown in the rigs.

Couldn't i technically buy the 1600 and then overclock it to 2133?

ahh tough decision! the Kingston ram doesn't that have great of ratings, however the corsair platinum is the best ram they offer and has nothing but good reviews. I'm just split if i should choose 2133 or 1600!
