Recently i had my network card changed and it doesn't come with a driver cd (its plug and play). When the computer was booted , the network card was successfully detected and the drivers were installed automatically. The problem is when i plug in my ethernet cable to the lan port of the network card, the computer does not detect that i have plugged in an ethernet cable. The router shows that the lan is connected and also my network card has led lights which blinks when an ethernet cable is connected and those lights blinks too, but still my computer does not detect that an ethernet cable is connected.

I tried connecting my laptop through the ethernet cable , the laptop detected it successfully and got connected.

I had enabled the network card by going to the device manager, i tried uninstalling and re-installing the network card, still i get the problem.

What seems to be the problem here?

Thank you for your time.

Although windows may have told you that it detected and installed drivers, but they may not have been the correct drivers. I would advise going to the network card manufacturer's website and seeing if they have any drivers there.
