Upgrading RAM to 16gb

I have recently bought HP envy 4 ultrabook which came with 4gbX1 module of hynix ddr pc3 12800 @ 1600 Mhz, 204 pin and CL=11, non ecc, unbuffered at 1.35Volts (second slot is empty). I plan to upgrade RAM to 8gbX2 module. Can you suggest me which RAM module i should buy. Laptop supports maximum ram of 16gb. I have win 8 which is 64 bit system

I never had a issue with crucial laptop memory. On there web page is a memory advisor tool that scan your system and show the part number for matching ram that will work in your laptop.

Does CAS latency also matter ?

The difference between higher timings than lower timings are very small, you won't see any difference in real world applications. Unless with a benchmark.

Not really to most new mb. If it cl9 not cl11 like you posted your system not going to care as long as the dimms are a matched set. Cl will screw you up if one stick is faster then the other.

Yes, it will work without any issues at all. Your Ultrabook supports up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM.
