I currently build my gaming pc and i have the following issue my internet is working fine but at random intervals get disconnected from internet for 2-3 secs and then i immediately regain my connection. I have tried installing the drivers numerous times but the problem still persists...My OS is win7 and my ethernet adapter in Onboard my mobo is asrock z77 extreme 4...

Try newest Realtek Ethernet drivers from Realtek web page. If your still having drops go into the Ethernet port settings and set the speed to 100 mb duplex speed see if the drops stop. If not try 10 mbs duplex speed. If the issue still there try a new Ethernet cable and log into your modem and look at it logs and see if there line noise or low power to the modem. A bad splitter or cable box can cause issues.

"Local network or internet? If it's only the internet, it's something between your router and ISP."

Local network all other devices that are connected to the router work fine...

nope since my other computer which is connected to the same router works just fine.... i think it is something with this computer but i dont know if its some software or hardware malfunction...it just came to me than when i installed the drivers for my GPU the computer would not turn off and i had to use the clear CMOS button, after that it worked perfectly...
