Hi, when it comes to building PC's, there are two things that i get confused with, RAM and motherboard.Tonight i'll be going around retail shops searching for some components for my first desktop build for gaming, i am confused with what i should be looking at when i search for a good ram. To play games like say, Watch Dogs or any other high end game, what should be the speed of the ram (In Mhz right?)? and should i get total 6Gb of ram or 8Gb?

My current build that i am planning : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/171GN

Not yet complete.

It depends if you use dual or triple channel, though it's most likely dual, in which case 8 GB is what you need. Though 6 is fine for games if you're triple channeling. As for speed it has less impact than people assume, for most the sweet spot between cost and performance is 1600, though some insist it's worth a little extra for slightly faster RAM. As you are gaming it's fair to assume you will be using a dedicated GPU in which case it will use it's own RAM so you don't need to worry to much. For strictly gaming purposes you only really need to look at the top end RAM if you are going with integrated graphics, especially AMD APUs.
