Hi guys.

While I've been using this website to find everything I ever needed to know about computers, I'm actually posting something for the first time now. Don't judge me for saying something wrong because I'm not a superpro when it comes to computers ;)
I just upgraded my old self-built pc with a new mobo, cpu and gpu but I'm having some troubles now.
First thing I noticed when I "upgraded" was that cpu-intensive loads were slower than before. After some looking around on the internet I came to the conclusion that my old cpu was better than this one. The mobo, cpu and gpu came in 1 package so I would've bought it anyway even if I knew before my old one was a little better since the mobo and gpu are way better than my old ones. My old cpu was a phenom II x4 965 BE, the new one is fx-6100.

Also I got a giant Zalman cooler on my cpu that isn't doing anything that a stock cooler can't do so I'm going to try to overclock this new cpu for the first time. cpu temp idle is like 27C and load 31C. I just finished a prime95 test and that came out on 45C on full load. So I thought overclocking would be no problem.

My question: Can anyone give me a simple but straightforward instruction on how to do this? I know there are lots of instructions online but I'm asking this here because I once heard that every pc setup has different ways to overclock and I'm a bit affraid I'll destroy my pc if I do it wrongly.

SO: how do I overclock my cpu and do you guys have any other tips regarding my pc (except get my old cpu back or buy anything new, I'm a poor student so that's a no-go). Like I said, I'm just a bit past novice level regarding pc's
