I have chosen the following for a gaming PC

1.) Intel-i3-3220
2.) Asus P8H77-M LE 16GB DDR3 Intel Motherboard
3.) Gainward NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
4.) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9)
5.) Cooler Master Thunder 500W 500 Watts PSU

I wanted to know that I should go for 2 cores or 4 cores CPU (i5)
3th generation or 4th generation?
if to 4th generations, then what model/motherboard recommended.

i'd say go for 3rd gen i5-3350p thats your best bet, with slightly overclocking it would beat the crap out of a 3220. there is absolutely no need for a 4th gen haswell on a budget build.

good luck.

the cheapest i5 you can get is 3330, 3350p is the one that makes most sense, if you want something better you should go for 3470 or 3570...

3350p + a Z75 or Z77 board gets you limited overclocking - up to about 3.6GHz. If you're looking to get over 4GHz, you'll need to spend the extra for an i5-3570K.

For the video card, try your best to bump up to a GTX 650Ti BOOST. It's a lot better for not much more money.

Better bang for you buck , if your on a budget , with an AMD build.

i3 won't cut it for gaming.
