Hi sorry for the fuss but I was looking around and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on my build, so far decided on the AMD FX8350 Black Edition for the cpu, Asus Sabertooth 990FX 3rd gen mother board and Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB for my ram, Im pretty definite on those three however open to advice on anything else.
PS Im aiming for a build at around £900 maybe to £950.

Manythanks, Crazyturtle

pcpartpicker uk didn't have the gen3 Sabertooth, so I stuck the Crosshair V Formula-Z in there knowing your board will likely be a bit cheaper. So everything comes in under 950 GBP depending on what you can find the 990FX Sabertooth Gen3 for. I also have a SSD in there as well, be sure to install windows and your games onto that for significantly faster load times :)

I like your pc build but just asking will 500 W really be enough, unfortunately I dont have a 3D monitor so not too sure about the graphics card, lastly the corsair ssd is relatively expensive compared to the samsung so was just wondering is there a big difference :/ thanks for the advice tho !!! also is it worth getting the gen 3 for £10 more ? thanks :D

The brand is Club 3D...so you're fine...that's a Tahiti 7870, it will perform more like a 7950 for less money.

500W is what AMD recommends for that card, and with your CPU, you should be fine there...just upgrade your PSU before you go adding another GPU (If you decide to Crossfire).

The Corsair has better data transfer rates...(it's faster)...which is why it's a little more expensive.

Yes, the Gen3 is worth 10 GBP difference. It comes with PCIe 3.0 slots instead of PCIe 2.0.

I'll go for a Fx-6300 and try to get some awesome Overclock.

And you can expend the money you save choosing that CPU to get even better GPU or faster Memory sticks (2400Mhz) wich is awesome in AMD setups.

Enjoy your new and awesome computer! :D

Thanks, oh also to mention this is my first pc build so may not know absolutely everything about whats there :) Drew010 you mentioned its a limited motherboard why do you think that ? Is there maybe anything else you would recommend then ? I was looking for longevity and good performance and thought that was a good choice but not so sure now :/

He was referencing the fact that they only made it for a limited time...it's hard to find because it's rarer. The Sabertooth Gen3 is one of the best boards you could buy for an AMD setup.

Please don't forget to pick a best solution! Good Luck! :)

That's not a bad card...though the HD 7870XT is quite a bit more card. If you wanted to save a bit of money, look for the PowerColor HD 7870XT, I believe it was on sale for under 200 GBP.

Your PSU you chose is fine.

Between the 2 cards, both are fine...the top one has PCIe 3.0 compatability, which means it is compatible with a higher bandwidth PCIe bus than the lower one.

Now, you currently can't use all the bandwidth in PCIe 2.0...so it's extraneous, but if you wanted it, you could get it to have it.
