hi guys,

am having a strange problem. I have two intel s775 processors e7200 and q6600. When my PC works on e7200 everything is perfectly normal. But when i put q6600(given to me by a friend) my windows doesnt boot. In bios(lastest version) shows it fine. My mb(P5QLD PRO) supports both of them. Is q6600 damaged somehow? How can i test it? Can i manipulate voltage or anything in bios somehow to made it work?

I was gonna suggest that myself. Good advice.

Aditionally, if you can get to the bios, then it's worth a try setting it to default, and try and boot up again. It may be your settings with 7200 are interfering with Q6600 but thats doubtful since they run on the same FSB. But it's worth a try. If it boots to windows, you can check some things from there.

If it's possible to find out the VID of the CPU. My G0 Q6600 has a VID of 1.3v, which is actually kinda high :( That way you can manually set the voltage for the cpu in the bios. It could be the mobo is under volting (depending on what setting it's on) and maybe that's why it won't boot to windows.
