AMD 7950 vs GTX 780 PLEASE help

Alright, a lot of you will be disgusted at this question, but please guys, I REALLY, really need your help. Someone who is a god of graphic cards, please give me a knowledge bomb on why the GTX 780 is better than the AMD 79050.

Basically my friend is trying to talk down my graphic card, because well, im a benchmark guy, y'know? oo look at the numbers and i do not know why it is technically better, and I know the gtx 780 is better, but he is trying to say it is not that much better. SO PLEASE, someone with a lot of knowledge on these gpu's enlighten me to the specific things that make the gtx 780 superior!

Please tom's hardware.. You're my only hope.

The 780 is a million times better! You'd be crazy to try and compare two completely different cards! The 780 is better suited to take on the 7970 (which it beats), and the 7950 competes with the 660 ti!

It's not much better, thats the point. The 7950 comes pretty close to the best value for money out there, the 780 is somewhere at the bottom of the pile. It's twice the price for 40% extra performance (and thats being very generous), if you have the money for it then obviously its better, but from a value perspective its not.

You could point out the 780 is a titan with its compute power removed. And the titan stands up to the 7990 which has coolers that could blow the 7950 away, let alone the specs?

Although he does have the high road with value... the 780 is not value but it sure packs a punch.

A 780 is a fantastic card but way overpriced right now. If its go big or go home, why not just go balls deep and get a Titan, 690 or 7990 for a few hundred extra dollars?

I would argue that the "sweet spot" of pc graphics right now is the 7970, a modest step up from the 7950. It performs about the same as the new gtx 770, is priced similarly, and comes with four free games.

Depends what you friend is counting as "The best", If its sheer hardware, then they're winding you up. but value... they've got ya by the short and curlies :p especially with the 7950 coming with crysis 3, tomb raider, blood dragon and bioshock infinite as well.
