Building my first computer and starting off with one gtx 770 graphics card but in a few months I will throw in another one and sli them. I know the i7's don't benefit much for gaming but what about in sli mode? I am using a 212 evo to cool the CPU and hoping to oc to 4.0ghz (also my first time)

So I am wondering should I just spend the extra $100 now on the i7 or save it? This rig is just for gaming!

Thank you for the advice!

The only difference between the i7 and i5 is hyper-threading. For gaming, hyper-threading does nothing. Go with the i5

If you don't have extra money laying around go for the i5 will be just fine. Power users and those with deeper pockets go for the i7 more times than not. Some of us do more than just game that go for the i7 and use the hyperthreading option.
