Is my computer as good as a Ps4?

I'm hoping to play all of the ps4 games that are released these next few years.(for computer of course, like assassins creed 4, or God of war) Will my computer be able to play them? If not, what should i upgrade?

Pretty decent. I'd get a better GPU to start with, then go for the CPU after that (I expect the games you mentioned to be

GPU bound more than CPU bound).

honestly don't know. how well a console game will scale to PC tend to vary a lot from game to game. you have a solid computer for gaming for now, but chances are you'll be upgrading GPU in 2-3 years and the CPU at some point as well

The PS4 will have 8 cores from What I have heard however the gpu is the equivalent of the PS4 from all of the sources I have checked

You're basically comparing apples and oranges but as far as just straight specs are concerned, you're not far below.

Even if you have something comparable to PS4 hardware wise the performance are not going to be same for games because the optimization for both platform are different

ps4 and xbox1 will be x86... there will be no optimization, if it runs on a computer, it will run on the new consoles. we all will benefit from the time and effort put into coding efficiency.

there will be no optimization? it won't have to go through the giant legacy-software archive known as Windows and you don't think the games will run better on the new consoles than a computer?
