Well it has 520w on the rail that they will be using along with my,

CPU: i5 3570k stock clocks.
GPU: Maybe HD 7850 Crossfired at 1100mhz core.

Now add in two case fans, which will be three at least if I crossfire plus a HDD I think I would be pushing it right? Was hoping someone has this kind of setup on a 550w PSU.

It would be cutting it very close. Running a 550w could be a risk. I would recommend at least a 600w.

In the tests done by Tom's the whole system with a single card was pulling just over 250w, add a second card and you'd be looking at about 400w max, so yes you'd be fine. Eventually you'll want to get a 600w.

well the 7850 is a 130W gpu... assuming it's not overclocked, you're talking about 260W eaten up by gpu... yeah... you probably can run it.

I was thinking this too, although I have also thought about getting it, then releasing it wouldn't run and I'd have to get a new PSU, which I am hoping to do in 5 years time

When I built this last year I thought I should have brought a 1000w PSU just so it was future-proof, might make the HD 7850 and 1000w PSU my christmas present to myself :)

XFX P1-650X-XXB9 650W ATX12V 2.2 & ESP12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply.

This will do the job.

I'll just go with a 1000w I think, then if I do get some of the higher end cards SLI/Xross then I'll still be fine.

1000w is overkill, as graphics cards are getting more and more efficient. 850w is the max you will ever need for a dual sli/crossfire config.

SeaSonic X-SERIES X-1050 1050W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply.

Here you go, Haswell Certified and future proof!!!!!!!

Think next time a make a build I will go all out and get myself one of these, problem is being in the UK it is harder to get these, here they are £220, shame I can't get someone on holiday to get me one

Be careful using that under powered PSU with 2 cards.

AMD says min 600W for Crossfire.
