Straight to the point, im a gamer. Im building my first system with an ssd. I have seen many on the market with high degrees of variation in the 4k random read/write. Which one is more important for a gamer? Are they important at all?
Games usually cache there data and its usually map data that gets pulled in on the fly. Map data is typically larger and would be more effected by sequential reads IMO. In my thinking if the few drives I were considering were all above 400mb/s sequential then I would look at the 4k speeds and get the better one there. It would have to be a huge file for you to notice the difference between 300mb/s and 500+ sequential.
