Hi everyone

I have a gigabyte GA-990fxa-ud7 (AMD socket) motherboard that died on me recently. I am looking at getting a new one, however, my only concern is that because I am running an OEM version of windows 7 that when I swap out the motherboard and plug all my old components back in it wont work.

can anyone tell me if a OEM version of windows will work when a motherboard is swapped out.

Or just phone windows to reactivate. On an OEM they will reactivate with a motherboard failure, as long as you replace it with close to the original board. In the case of an unavailable board, you just inform them of that and assure them your using all the same parts, just a new board.

They are usually pretty sympathetic.
