Hi,

I just purchased a whole $1600 load of components to build my first PC. 3 of my items (ASUS Monitor, CM Case, and SeaSonic PSU) have rebates totalling $45.

If I cut the barcodes off the boxes to send in for the rebate...but then I later learn that the part breaks or doesn't work...will I still be able to RMA even with the missing barcode? This has me very worried.

Also, how do I determine which barcode to cut out on the boxes.
My cooler master case box has like 4 barcodes in different places, all of which are stickers,

my PSU has 2 barcodes, one is a sticker that says "s/n" before the barcode and the other one is a barcode with some high bars (mid and ends) and the rest the same length.

I ordered these 3 from newegg.

I know the make rebates a pain in the butt because they don't want people to actually do them. *sigh*.

You won't be able to RMA a component after sending a rebate. Once you cut out that UPC label and send it in for the mail in rebate that voids the Newegg warranty.

Are you serious? That's a bunch of bull. Well I guess I'll wait till after I put everything together on Saturday to do any cutting.

When you say RMA do you mean back to Newegg or to the manufacturer?

After you cut out the barcode you can not return it to Newegg, you can return it to the manufacturer, if it does not work.

I don't know, I've never returned anything before, honestly.

If you happened to buy anything incompatible, do your build, make sure it works and then do the cutting of the barcodes.

Since you said your new to RMA, this is from the Newegg website:
Most products can be returned for either a Refund or for a Replacement of the same item. Any return for a refund may be subject to a 15% restocking fee.

Many retailers charge a 15% restocking fee.
