I have had bf3 for a year almost to the day. But recently I have found it difficult to play due low FPS:(. I have always experienced occasional FPS drops but now the FPS is almost always below 30. I know that I have an old pc with pretty bad specs but i used to be able to play with out too much lag (I have seen the FPS get into the 50s :D). I am happy to play with the lowest graphics settings and low resolution (i have a CRT monitor so 800x600 is fine). I would be very happy with a solid 30 FPS. If i could find a better cpu compatible with my DG31PR mother board I would upgrade but it seems like there are none left:(. But i don't have much money to spend on computers so a new pc is out of the question:(. My PC matches the system requirements on the DVD case so I don't know why i get such bad performance. I want any tips or suggestions that could help me reach my goal of a solid 30 FPS on bf3 without buying a new pc.

Thanks:)

PC specs:
PC Type: Desktop
CPU: Intel, core 2 duo, 2.8GHz, (2 cores)
RAM: DDR2 2GB
GPU: nVidia GeForce, GT 240, 1GB
Mother Board: intel DG31PR
OS: Windows 7 home premium 32bit

always take those system requirements with a grain of salt, they are almost always not enough for a smooth gameplay, maybe the recommended sys req.
well, first, 2gb is too low, make it at least 4gb.
get a better GPU, get a 7770 maybe?
then oc that cpu up to maybe 3.2ghz (or higher if possible)
